Commercial Electrician

Alongside the work I do in people's homes, I look after business premises: offices, shops, salons, gyms and the units behind them.

The work is much the same, but the way it has to be done is different. Most of it happens around opening hours, and a landlord or a managing agent usually needs the paperwork as much as the work itself.

An EICR on a commercial property works the same way as one on a rented house. I inspect, test and give you the report, with anything that needs doing listed and priced.

The board was put in for a different business

Premises change hands and the wiring rarely keeps up. A unit fitted out as an office and now used as a workshop often needs more circuits than the board was built for.

You cannot be shut while the work happens

Tell me your hours when you call and I will work around them. Most jobs can be split so the power is only off when you are closed.

Working around a business

I will look at the job and tell you what it needs, what it will cost and how long you will be without power, before anything starts. If that means early mornings or a weekend, that is what it means.

Everything is tested and certified when it is finished, the same as on a house, so you have the paperwork for your insurer or your landlord.
